Founded in 2002, City Lock has been part of reggae, dancehall and hop-hop culture for more than two decades.

What started as a sound system grew through years of playing music, travelling, building connections and working directly with artists in Jamaica and around the world. Along the way, City Lock has recorded and collaborated with some of the biggest names in Jamaican music, including Damian Marley, Bounty Killer, Masicka, Shenseea and many more.

Those years shaped what City Lock is today — not just a studio, but a creative platform built on real relationships with artists and a deep connection to the culture behind the music.

A NEW CHAPTER

In 2022, City Lock expanded with the launch of its own independent label. Since then, we have been developing and releasing our own productions, riddims and international collaborations while continuing to work with established artists as well as new talent.

Today, City Lock Studio brings all of these worlds together in Berlin: recording, songwriting, production, mixing and mastering, artist development and releases — backed by a history in music and sound system culture that goes back to 2002.
